  • What is the arrival and check in procedure?
The door will be unlocked 10 minutes before the scheduled class time. You enter, sign in, remove your shoes (you may wear non-slip socks if you do not want to be barefoot). Then you will enter the main space, where you will put your personal stuff: bags, water bottle, hand towel, etc. under one of the tables under a chair that will be your mandala art spot toward the end of the class. Then you will find a space in the meditation circle and quietly sit or meditate until all other participants arrive. The main space is a quiet space meant for turning inward and quieting the mind. The door will be locked at start time, and class will begin on time. This is the goal anyway!
  • What if I'm running late for a class?
We understand that life happens. If you are running 5 or 10 minutes late, you will need to notify us immediately so that we can leave the door open with someone waiting for you in order to quietly sneak you into the class. We normally close and lock the door at start time so that we can keep the distractions out. It is disruptive for other participants while trying to meditate in the quiet space to have people entering late, so we try to avoid that at all costs. This example of letting someone in late is in very rare emergency cases only.
  • Incense, Candles, Smells, oh my!
While it may be your favorite perfume that you love to spritz on yourself every time you go somewhere, this is not the place to do that. We have many sensitive souls that come to our classes (myself included), that cannot tolerate intense artificial smells. Please do not wear strong scented perfume, cologne, lotions, oils, or other strong scents to class. We do not burn incense in class. We DO burn a candle, so if you are allergic or sensitive to certain scents, please let us know. With that said, we do encourage everyone to please wear your deodorant! That is one smell we want to avoid in a class!
  • What if I have to miss a workshop class?
Please read the refund policy. We do not give refunds for missed classes, however, we will work with you to try and figure out the best solution to get you the materials that you missed and guidance on that particular chakra.
  • Can I bring my child to class with me?
No. This is an adult only class. Distraction free space.
  • I do not know how to dance. Can I still do chakradance?
YES! In chakradance, there is no right or wrong way to dance. There is no keeping time with the music or worrying about "steps". Your body will know how to move. The "dance" is spontaneous free form movement and anyone can do it!
  • Will I get emotional?
The experience is different for everyone. Yes, you may have emotions that come up when you are releasing blocked energy that you have been holding onto. It can be anywhere on a spectrum of gentle to intense. Just know that you are in a safe and supportive space, and it is part of the healing process. You are allowed to have the emotions, free from judgment. Keep in mind that you will be dancing in a darkened room and everyone will have their eyes closed, wearing an eye mask, or softly gazing at the floor.
  • I don't want people watching me dance.
Everyone will be dancing in a darkened room, either with their eyes closed, wearing an eye mask, or softly gazing at the floor. It is a safe and sacred space free from judgment. The other participants won't even know you are in the room, as they will be focused on themselves while connecting with their own journey.
  • I cannot stand for long periods of time. Can I still do chakradance?
Absolutely! We always make accommodations for any issue that you may have. We will provide a chair when you get tired and this will not affect your experience at all. Your chakras will still benefit from the music, guided imagery, and even the slightest movement from your body.
  • Is chakradance safe?
Chakradance is completely gentle and safe. Everyone moves at their own pace within their own capabilities. If you have concerns, you should discuss them with the facilitator before the class begins via email.
  • What religion does chakradance believe in?
Chakradance has an all-inclusive belief system. Every individual has the right to subscribe to whatever religion that they are comfortable with. We do not push religion in the practice. We use language like: The divine, higher self, light beings, or angels in some of the guided meditations, but you can replace it with whatever label or deity that you want to.
  • What if I change my mind and don't want to finish the course?
Unfortunately, we cannot offer refunds if you simply change your mind after you have taken classes. Keep in mind that this may be your mind's subconscious way of telling you that there is healing work to be done that it just doesn't want to do. If at all possible, we will work with you to come up with a solution.
  • Can I just take one of the workshops in the Freedom series?
The only single workshop available right now is the Introductory 7-chakra workshop. (The first class in the series). The rest of the workshops are part of the chakradance Freedom journey series and is a package. Every workshop fits together to provide a flow for your body, mind and soul on it's healing journey. However, we do plan on holding individual themed workshops in the near future, so if you have a request for a particular chakra let us know!
